Jean brings over 15 years of experience in the strategic development of energy systems, with a particular focus on transformation strategies in the context of the energy transition and climate change.
At PwC, Jean was responsible for developing the tool-based climate scenario analysis "Climate Excellence." He crafted corporate strategies for leading companies in the energy, technology, oil & gas, and agriculture sectors, considering the opportunities and risks of climate change. Additionally, he adapted the investment strategies of financial institutions to align with EU climate goals.
Jean began his career at The CO-Firm GmbH in Hamburg, a boutique strategy consultancy, where he was a senior expert in Climate & Energy Strategy. There, he developed strategies for energy providers and various industries, including chemicals, oil & gas, paper, glass, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics. He also served as a scientific advisor at the Institute of Energy Economics (IER) at the University of Stuttgart, where he developed climate and energy transition strategies for cities, municipalities, and companies in Germany and provided policy advice for various ministries and the EU Emissions Trading System.
His academic background includes a Ph.D. in Energy Technology from the University of Stuttgart, master's degrees in Energy and Environmental Engineering from Linköping University in Sweden, and Industrial Engineering from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).
Jean lives near Hamburg, is married, and has a daughter.
